50 Years of Agent 007: London Exhibition

July 31, 2012. This year marks fifty years since the premiere of the first Bond film – Dr. No starring Sean Connery. Since then, over two dozen Bond films have been made. This fall, the 23rd installment of the story of the famous Agent 007 will hit theaters. In the new film, titled Skyfall, as well as in the last two films, Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace, Daniel Craig will play the role of James Bond. In the meantime, you can visit the summer Bond exhibition in London.

James Bond

British secret agent James Bond deserves attention on our website because gambling is a recurring theme in Bond films. He often accepts the challenge to play and, with elegance, defeats—and sometimes drives to madness—his opponents. The British agent is always impeccably dressed and uses the latest gadgets and technological innovations provided by his quartermaster, Q, whom Bond not only constantly teases but also returns some of the gadgets in catastrophic condition.

Six actors have portrayed James Bond: Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan, and Daniel Craig. 50 Years of Agent 007 is commemorated by a London exhibition, which is the perfect preparation and teaser for the latest, 23rd Bond film, Skyfall, starring Daniel Craig. The world premiere will take place at the end of October and beginning of November, while in our region, it will be released on October 26, 2012. We’re very excited!

London Bond Exhibition

The exhibition, titled Designing 007: Fifty Years of Bond (loosely translated as "The Evolution of Agent 007: Fifty Years with Bond"), runs all summer until September 5, 2012, at the Barbican Centre on Silk Street in London. At the exhibition, you can see, for example, James Bond’s suits and those of his opponents, the dresses of Bond girls, as well as Ursula Andress’s iconic white bikini from the very first Bond film, Dr. No, the legendary Aston Martin DB5, and the golden gun from The Man with the Golden Gun.

At the exhibition, you can, of course, enjoy James Bond’s favorite drink – a martini: shaken, not stirred. General admission costs twelve pounds, while youth under 16 pay eight pounds.
