Premiere of the New Bond Film Skyfall in Just One Month
September 26, 2012. Fans of the successful series about Her Majesty’s agent will soon get their fix. The latest, 23rd Bond film, titled Skyfall, will premiere in theaters worldwide exactly one month from now, on October 26, 2012. Daniel Craig will play the role of James Bond for the third time.
Filming Locations and Cast
The film, directed by Oscar-winning Sam Mendes, was shot in various locations around the world. Scenes were filmed, for example, on Hashima Island, in Macau, which is famous for its casinos, but the action also returns to London.
Returning and New Faces
Judi Dench will reprise her role as Bond’s boss, M. Alongside James Bond, the Bond girls will be played by English actress Naomie Harris as Eve and her French counterpart Bérénice Marlohe as Sévérine. Unfortunately, the trailers suggest that the old, beloved Q will be replaced by a younger version. The title song is performed by Adele.
Celebrating 50 Years of Bond
This year marks 50 years since Sean Connery first appeared in the Bond film Dr. No. This summer, to celebrate the occasion, the Designing 007: Fifty Years of Bond exhibition was held in London, and a special collection of all 22 previous Bond films in high-definition Blu-ray is set to be released.
Hopes for Skyfall
Daniel Craig, the latest James Bond, first shone in Casino Royale, which brought a good script and plenty of solid action. On the other hand, his second film, Quantum of Solace, felt a bit weaker. Let’s hope the creators of the latest Bond film, Skyfall, deliver, if only to properly celebrate the 50th anniversary. We’re looking forward to it.
